Another Blog to Check Out: Jeff Hilimire's Begin the Begin

Last night I attended a Startup Grind event held at Atlanta Tech Village. What's Startup Grind, you ask?

Startup Grind is a global startup community designed to educate, inspire, and connect entrepreneurs. It is powered by Google for Entrepreneurs. We host monthly events in more than 50 cities and 15 countries featuring successful local founders, innovators, educators and investors who share personal stories and lessons learned on the road to building great companies.

At this event, current Dragon Army CEO and former President of Engauge (now Moxie) Jeff Hilimire spoke about his experiences building, managing, and working . It was interesting. In lieu of trying to reproduce all his interesting thoughts here, I'll just point you to his blog. It's especially stimulating if you want insight into Atlanta's startup scene or are curious about the progress of Dragon Army, Atlanta's hottest mobile gaming studio.

Digital Atlanta Team 2014, Here I Come!

For the past two years I've attended Digital Atlanta, a yearly conference on digital innovations in social media, entertainment, startups, nonprofits, gaming, culture, mobile, sports and marketing. Through the conference I met some amazing people, and learned about nifty topics, and discovered some really cool companies in Atlanta. I always recommend it to my friends and colleagues as one of the best values you can find in a local marketing and technology event. So I'm excited to announce that this year, I will serve as the volunteer Email Coordinator for Digital Atlanta!

Meet all the other volunteers here. Click on their names to follow 'em on Twitter! Oh yeah, and you should definitely sign up for the newsletter, like, right now (scroll down to the bottom of the page to find the form).

Workin' and Twerkin' in ATL

This is the most SFW image I could find for this post. 0_O

Yesterday Creative Loafing published an article on the new Vice documentary "Atlanta: Strip City."

It's an interesting, though shallow, look at Atlanta's strip club scene (yup, it's probably NSFW). It's too short and comes from a perspective that is too far removed from gritty reality to delve very deep into all the controversial issues surrounding strippers and stripping. But it's worth watching, especially if you're new to Atlanta (like me) and know very little about the city and next to nothing about its strip clubs.
