How JCI Atlanta Has Kept Me Busy

It's been a while since I published any significant content to this blog or my projects at Kitty Mowmow's Animal Expo and Fashionably Responsible.

That's because I have volunteered as VP of Marketing for the Atlanta Jaycees, and the position has kept me happily busy outside of my normal nine-to-five work.  So happy, in fact, that I have to brag on what our board has accomplished so far. We updated our old website, which hasn't changed significantly since it was launched in 2007:

Compare that to our new site:

Because the new site is made in Squarespace, it will be more sustainable throughout the frequent leadership and membership rotations of the Atlanta Jaycees. We needed something that was mobile-friendly, easy to use, and simple to manage, even for non-technical people, and I think we got that.

Squarespace isn't perfect, but I've found myself recommending it more frequently to individuals and organizations who don't have the bandwidth for the more hands-on management required by many other robust content management systems, like Wordpress. Squarespace has most of the features that most people want, but it is much easier and less time-consuming for the average user to control.

So, what's kept you busy lately?
